Most of the Amazon sellers are now protesting vigorously the latest returns policy introduced by Amazon Group, as it will ease the procedure of sending back various items even at the expense of merchants for consumers. This week, the Amazon Group emailed to inform marketplace sellers involved in the shipping of their products from the garage, home or any warehouse that starting from October 2 2017, items will become automatically authorized for the return.

This implies that any buyer now no longer requires approaching the seller prior to sending/returning any item back, while the merchant will not get any scope to communicate for convincing the customer. For instance, if any consumer returns his purchased phone or any other electronic item because of difficulty in its usage, the seller will no longer be able to help him for it. Instead, the Amazon policy will force the seller to pay refunds of the respective electronic device.

The Email mentioned that customers may now be able to get a printed document of the prepaid return and shipping label with the help of online return center within a less possible span of time. In addition, Amazon declared that it will introduce return fewer refunds. This feature allows sellers to give refunds without taking back the purchased item, which may involve huge expenses in the shipment process or involve difficulty associated with its reselling process.

Hence, a third-party seller highlighted the email and opined that the newly introduced policies of Amazon will cause a big harm to various small business ventures, as they meet their own orders. Online forums further highlight many angry sellers. By discussing the topic related to return fewer refunds, a merchant opined, “The new policy will allow our customers in another way to get various things from us at free of cost. We cannot consider this as a joke.”

Another comment highlighted, “Amazon is assuming that a buyer should never give any false reason related to returning the product to escape from making any payment for it.” Few of the sellers even mentioned in various online forums that Amazon Group is allowing exemptions to specific numbers of items from the automated return procedure. Amazon, on the other side, confirmed that sellers will receive exemptions only in case of excluding only specific inventories and they will have the return less service on an optional basis.

Amazon stated in its e-mail, “Our latest features will help sellers to reduce their costs and time related to returns of products and at the same time, to provide customers with the efficient and the easiest return experience. In addition, our rules will be applicable only to various in-policy returns and we will disrupt the notion about its charges equal to premium for returning labels.”

The newly introduced changes in the policy will direct various sellers, who often opt to fulfill orders of their customers on their own rather than with the help of Amazon. Therefore, Amazon online shopping site is putting its best possible effort to give same shopping experience to every individual irrespective of whether he buys any product from the Amazon or with the help of any third-party merchant.
